This skirt feels alive—as though it was shaped in motion rather than drafted on paper. Created as a Les Habitudes–selected special piece, it leans into depth, layering, and shadow, using black not as a flat color but as a spectrum of tone and transparency.
The waist is softly angled, sitting low and slightly asymmetric, from which layers of sheer silk descend in shifting currents. From the front, the skirt reads restrained and fluid; from the back, it opens dramatically, revealing pleated inner layers framed by gauze-like panels that part and reconnect as the wearer moves. Nothing here is rigid—every line responds to gravity and motion.
The outer silk carries a subtle, brushed texture, while the underlayers introduce vertical rhythm through fine pleating. The hemline dissolves rather than ends, with floating edges that hover just above the floor and occasionally trail behind. It’s this sense of controlled looseness that gives the skirt its presence.
Rather than declaring itself immediately, this piece rewards time and proximity. It’s sculptural without being severe, romantic without softness—designed for those who appreciate nuance over spectacle.
